As Healthcare Professionals ourselves, we at Fusion Medical recognise the need to maintain professional standards and Continue Professional Development, whether this be for personal reasons or to meet the standards required by the Care Quality Commission, for example.

As well as providing high quality First Aid training to the corporate world, Fusion Medical also provides advanced education for Healthcare Professionals such as General Practitioners, Dentists, Community and Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. All of these sessions are run at your practice (unless you wish us to arrange a venue) and at a time which is convenient to you.

We offer a variety of sessions which are the most popular or you can 'pick and mix' the sessions to meet your individual needs as a practice or department. The standard and most popular sessions are as follows:

• 1 Hour: This session covers Adult Basic Life Support as well Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
• 2 Hours: This session covers Adult and Paediatric (Infants and Children) Basic Life Support and FBAO
• 3 Hours: This session covers the same as the 2 hour session but in addition includes the theory and practical update on the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

All of the above sessions can be booked and paid for as a 1, 2 or 3 hour 'standard session'.

Fusion Medical recognises that each specialty has their own needs and interests when it comes to additional education, this is why we have added the following skill sessions which can be added to any existing and arranged education sessions, or used to compile your own session allowing each annual update to remain fresh and inspiring.

The 'pick and mix' skill sessions are as follows:

ECG Recognition:

A basic introduction/refresher from ECG electrode placement to basic ECG rhythms and recognition of common ECG abnormalities including AMI and other Acute Coronary Syndromes.

Anaphylaxis:

Exploring the management of acute anaphylaxis with updates from the Resuscitation Council (UK) on the signs and symptoms, first and second line drug administration as well as the considerations when anaphylaxis is the cause of cardiac arrest.

Airway Management:

This session covers basic airway manoeuvres and looks at the other options available in the pre-hospital environment including basic airway adjuncts and supra-glottic airways. Advanced airway management updates are possible but in the light of new Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines in this area, we have decided that advanced airway management is neither practical nor relevant.

AED:

Available in the 'standard session' as an update, this session is aimed at new users of the AED and explores its place within the Resuscitation algorithm. With the AED being a vital link in the chain of survival, we believe that this life saving skill should not be reserved to healthcare professionals and Fusion Medical have already trained many admin and non-clinical staff in the AED's use.

Resuscitation Drugs:

After providing many training sessions in General Practice, we found that there is always a great deal of interest in the administration of resuscitation drugs from the Doctors. As a result, we offer this as one of our 'pick and mix' sessions. It looks at the advanced life support algorithm as far as the drug administration is concerned and keeps staff updated on what drugs are in and out the algorithm.

Pricing:

In a bid to make the pricing as simple as possible, we have based our charges on the 1, 2 and 3 hour sessions. These sessions are priced as follows:

• 1 hour - £150.00
• 2 Hours - £250.00
• 3 Hours - £350.00

Any time required over these sessions is charged at just £50.00 per half hour addition. For example, if your practice required a 3 hour session plus a 1 hour ECG session and 30 mins Resuscitation Drugs session, the cost would be £350.00 + £150 (3 x £50) = £500.00
