First Aid at Work

Course Description

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 state that employers have a responsibility to provide First Aid to employees if they become ill or injured at work. It is not a requirement to administer First Aid to customers of companies but the Health and Safety Executive 'looks favourably' on companies who use their First Aiders to treat customers.

Who Should Attend?

This course is aimed at any member of staff who would relish the responsibility of being called upon should a medical emergency happen in the workplace. Remember, First Aid is not just for work, it can be used anywhere. All candidates should wear appropriate attire for doing practical scenarios and be able to perform CPR for some time prior to the arrival of further help.

How long will their life-saving skills last?

The certificate issued on this course will be valid for 3 years and then a refresher course will be required before the expiry of the certificate, if not then they will have to do the whole course again. The HSE strongly recommend attending a 3 hour Annual Refresher courses during this period.

How long will the Course Last?

The course runs for 3 days in total, this is usually 3 consecutive days but can be taken over a maximum of 13 weeks if required, please contact us for more details about this option

Is there an assessment?

There is a practical and a written assessment at the end of the course but don't let that worry you.
